The Inertia

It goes without saying that around the world ski patrolling is a male-dominated profession. But, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a crop of badass women are defying that convention and inspiring young girls in the process to see themselves in workplaces they might not otherwise.

Patrolling is demanding work that includes early morning wake up calls, handling explosives, and is physical as hell. But, for the ladies of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s ski patrol team, to be able to keep the public safe and do it all on skis makes it all worth it.

Here, we get a glimpse into the average day of the women who keep Jackson Hole Resort safe, how they balance their careers with demands at home, and how they’re inspiring the next generation of women to take their safety in the mountains in their own hands.
