Corbet’s Couloir is one of the most iconic, extreme lines in America, considering you have to freefall at least 10 to 20 feet just to start a run through the chute (unless you gingerly side slip like a wet cat). And this is all while the place is covered in snow. Now imagine the madness of an event like Kings and Queens over a bone dry couloir — like, Kings and Queens of Corbet’s, Mountain Bike Edition.

Ironically, a few people did saddle up and fly down Corbet’s on mountain bikes about five years ago. But even that was still over the implied safety of snow cover. This quick video shared by Jackson Hole shows what the world-famous run looks like in the summer months with nothing but exposed rocks and that hectic, unmistakable freefall drop into the couloir. It’s every bit as sketchy as you probably imagined.
