The Inertia

With the avalanche danger considered “considerable” in the Tetons, Exum Mountain Guide Kim Havell was observing a set of ski tracks down Mount Taylor on the West Side of Teton Pass when the slope gave away and a giant mass of snow tumbled down the mountain. You can see her video of the slide, above.

The Jackson Hole region is coming out of a record-breaking two week storm cycle so most slopes are supremely loaded in the area. Local avalanche experts estimated the slide to be 96 inches deep at the crown and sent out a rescue helicopter to scan the area for anyone who may have been caught in the slide. No one was found to have been caught. You can see the tracks leading into the slide, here.
