Mountain biking in Montana is fun. Run ins while with wildlife while mountain biking in Montana? Not so much. Case in point? The recent camera footage above that looks like it was shot from a helicopter and captured a bear sprinting after a downhill mountain biker near Whitefish, Montana.
Montana has the highest population of grizzly bears in the Lower 48 states with Wyoming coming in a close second. A 38-year-old mountain biker was killed in Glacier National Park in 2019 when he surprised one of the animals on the trail he was riding. This footage was first published on the Montana Knife Company Instagram page and reportedly shows a black bear chasing the biker.
The mountain biker was apparently uninjured but the likelihood that he had to check his pants once he reached his car was high.
