A few years ago, I left my desk job in finance to pursue a more meaningful existence while traveling out of my truck, creating videos as Down2Mob Overland. In 2019, I drove my 2001 Dodge Cummins with a custom flat-bed camper and my pitbull Kota from the Arizona desert, to the Arctic Ocean, through Alaska, and back. I also built my collection of “rig walk-arounds” and lifestyle videos about some of the amazing nomads I met along the way.
In 2020, I’m expanding my network by working with friends and companies to build my Jeep Gladiator into the ultimate, lightweight, 4×4 home on wheels. In the meantime, I’m living out of this classic ALINER pop-up camper. Maybe you’ve seen these? They were brought to market in the early seventies and are still a super-viable way to camp on the road, especially since they have solid siding, making them usable in the winter months.
What do you think? Like I said – this is JUST temporary. For maybe 4-6 months until the new truck camper is built. In the meantime, here’s a little reminder that these campers are still one of the original tiny homes on wheels.
