Currently ranked second in the world, Sally Fitzgibbons has made a name for herself as a consummate competitor. She’s also built an impressive profile as a champion of a healthy lifestyle in and out of the surf. Recently, she teamed up with All Australian Beach Body to develop a workout series that fits her lifestyle and works for surfers who don’t have (or want) the benefit of gym equipment. She was kind enough to share her go-to lower body workout. It can be done indoors or outdoors. You just need about ten minutes, and your legs will be burning tomorrow.
Complete four sets of the following with as little rest between sets as possible.
Wide Squats: 30 seconds
Notes: Engage your core, and keep your chest proud. Keep your knees over your toes.
Squat Jumps: 30 seconds
Notes: Explosive jump. Land softly. Keep your knees over toes.
Lunges: 40 Seconds
Notes: Keep your chest tall. Lower down to a 90-degree angle with your front knee above your ankle.
Notes: Stay low. Activate your glutes. Keep your core engaged.
