It’s rare that you find a snack that’s actually and truly healthy. Most are just healthier in comparison to a bag of Doritos. Not the case with this avocado hummus. Chickpeas are absolutely packed with protein, avocados are loaded with healthy fats, and garlic boosts the immune system. This recipe is like a nutrient packed hybrid of guacamole and hummus, and it’s the perfect weekend snack. Dip veggies or pita chips into this healthy dip, and enjoy the day.

Ingredients
1 can chickpeas (save most of the liquid)
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup tahini
Sea salt and ground pepper to taste
2 medium ripe avocados, sliced and cut into chunks
1 dash ground cumin
2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
Method
-Add chickpeas, oil, lemon juice, and garlic to a blender or food processor. Blend/pulse together until the chickpeas are mashed.
-Add in the tahini and pulse for one minute. Depending on the texture, add in any extra chickpea liquid from the can. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-Add avocados and cumin. Continue to pulse until the texture is creamy.
-Scoop into a serving bowl and garnish with cilantro.
