The Inertia

Since rehabbing his 2004 hamstring injury, Mick Fanning has set the standard for fitness on the Championship Tour. With his strength and speed, he’s long been touted as fastest surfer in the world, and with 3 world titles to his name, he’s got the credentials to prove it. What’s amazing about Fanning is not just his level of fitness at the start of the season, but the fact he maintains that level through the duration of the year. With months on the road, going from airport to airport and beach to beach, that is quite an accomplishment. No doubt his fitness level played a huge role in his ability to clinch the 2013 world title at the Pipeline Masters, the last stop of the tour. Unscriptd got the scoop about what fitness essentials Fanning packs for the road, and how he stays in top form even when he can’t get to his gym at home.
