“When things aren’t going according to plan, one thing at a time. Get into the moment. Manage what you can manage one stroke at a time.”
Dave Kalama has had his fair share of heavy experiences. When you have Laird Hamilton as a tow partner, you’re bound to push the limits of what’s physically possible; whether you plan to or not. In this TED Talk, Kalama shares about one of the most terrifying days of his life. With a different tow partner, Kalama tackled solid 15-20 foot Jaws. After sliding down the face of a bomb, Kalama washed through the impact zone. Wave after wave he had to fight for his life. The experience taught him a lot about the ebb and flow of life, and how at times, you just have to take things one stroke at a time.
