“Hangovers are just God’s way of saying you kicked ass last night,” so they say. But no amount of positive affirmation can change the way a hangover feels – the headaches, the upset stomach.
According to former Tesla employee, Sisun Lee, though, a morning of pain does not have to follow a night out. And with today’s “lifehack” culture, it’s honestly amazing it’s taken so long for someone to devote serious resources to an unfortunate side effect alcohol consumers can all relate to.
Morning Recovery, as the product’s called, launched on Indiegogo earlier this summer, and at the conclusion of their campaign raised more than $240,000 – over 900 percent of their goal.
According to Lee, the key compound that alleviates hangover woes in their product is called Dihydromyricetin (DHM), found in an Oriental raisin tree called Hovenia Dulcis. It reportedly helps to detoxify the body after a night out.
To be clear, we haven’t tried the product and therefore can’t speak about it from personal experience. But with a staff made up of avid beer drinkers (see: here and here), the prospect of a bona fide hangover cure is tantalizing.
