The Inertia

As an athlete, taking care of my health has always been a top priority. I try to stay on top of the latest health trends and research to ensure I’m taking the best possible care of my body so I can perform at my best. When juicing became a trend, I jumped on the band wagon as juices are packed with nutrients and make me feel incredible. While there are plenty of green juice options out there, you don’t need anything too fancy to reap the health benefits. Simply try adding a glass of cucumber juice to your daily routine and you’ll likely notice a world of difference.

According to Medical Medium, cucumber juice contains vitamins A, C, K, magnesium, silicon, and potassium, and is highly alkalizing and hydrating. The juice is a natural diuretic, does wonders to cleanse and detox the body, and is anti-inflammatory, allowing it to fight autoimmune and neurological disorders. In order to maximize the juice’s hydration and recovery properties, drink 12-20 ounces a day on an empty stomach. In case you’re still not sold, here are seven solid reasons to add cucumber juice to your daily routine.

Great for Detox

Detoxing is important as it’s your body’s way of flushing out harmful toxins. As a natural diuretic, cucumber juice helps improve bowel movements and get rid of toxins so your body can stay healthy.

Boosts the Immune System

In today’s COVID world, having a strong immune system is more important than ever. Cucumbers are jam-packed with micronutrients and antioxidants that help keep your immune system strong and ward off diseases.

Rich in Antioxidants

Antioxidants are important to have in your diet as they neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, which helps prevent illnesses that are caused by oxidative stress. Cucumber juice contains vitamin C, beta carotene, manganese, molybdenum, and several flavonoid antioxidants.

Promotes Weight Loss

If you’re looking to drop a few pounds, cucumber juice may be your new best friend. If you find yourself regularly reaching for soda or sports drinks to stay hydrated, try swapping them out for cucumber juice. Cucumber juice is low in calories but will help you stay hydrated and feel full. The antioxidants in the juice are also a natural metabolism booster.

Keeps You Hydrated

If you spend a lot of time in the sun and on the move, you may find it difficult to stay hydrated. Cucumbers are roughly 95 percent water, making cucumber juice a great alternative. Cucumber juice also contains potassium, a natural electrolyte.

Good for the Skin

Everyone wants healthy, glowing skin and cucumbers can help. Cucumber juice is rich in vitamin K and silica, both of which help promote healthy skin. Cucumber juice also contains vitamin C and caffeic acid, which helps reduce inflammation and leave your skin rejuvenated.

Regulates Blood Pressure

If you battle high or low blood pressure, cucumber juice is a great natural resource. Cucumber juice contains magnesium, which promotes better sleep, naturally reduces stress, and helps prevent blood pressure from getting too high or too low.
