Health—is a way of life— it is a practice to do the best you can every day and in every moment in order to feel good in your body, mind and spirit.

The Inertia

Have FUN! Be creative with your routine and explore new activities. This challenges your body and your mind. When you step out of your comfort zone, your soul will sparkle and your heart will smile. Remember to be kind to yourself in your actions and thoughts, especially when the road is bumpy or has unexpected detours. In the end, these challenges brighten your spirit and help you fly. Mix up your workout program: hike with a buddy, try yoga or find a new yoga routine, just be open to something inspiring that has a flutter of scariness. This openness leads to a sense of freedom so you have fun, improve your skills, perform better, AND feel good!

Focus on the basics of your routine to create more awareness.

Focus on the basics of your routine to create more awareness.

Keep it simple ~ with a hint of a twist! As humans we complicate things. Our ego likes to take charge and fill our lives with busyness. The underlying theme is to keep it real and simple when complexities and distractions arise. Do the things that feel good, eat the foods that energize you, breathe well, be with the people that make you smile, and drink lots of water! This helps create balance within your body and your mind. Focus on the basics of your routine to create more awareness, then add a pinch of spice. Your mind will be sharp and attentive, your body will release stress, and tension will disappear.

Your team will help you navigate challenges.

Your team will help you navigate challenges.

Create a supportive community that will elevate and maintain your motivation. Appoint a “board of directors” for your wellness team to guide you: friends, family members, coach, physical therapist, chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapist, personal trainer, psychologist, nutritionists, creative teacher, artist, mentor, etc. Your wellness educators are multiple sources of inspiration and guidance; they act as a compass when you get lost. We are all human, and there will be days when we experience not feeling well in our body or mind. Your team will help you navigate the challenges so you get back on track or even explore a different path altogether to feel better again.

When you find stillness, take a moment to breathe and just be present.

When you find stillness, take a moment to breathe and just be present.

Slow down to speed up! That’s right! When you find stillness, take a moment to breathe and just be present, you will actually access a flow to your day and become more efficient. That seems counterproductive, I know, but it goes like this: when you slow down to create a connection with yourself in meditation or a breathing practice, the calmness that emerges transpires to keen awareness, attention, focus, and flow. All the moving parts of the puzzle come together more easily and you handle stress more effortlessly. Try it and the explanation will become clear. Carve quiet time in your day, take a few minutes to meditate and breathe… and feel better!

Being healthy is a practice. EVERY. DAY.

Being healthy is a practice. EVERY. DAY.

Create your best self, be your best, and do your best for TODAY. Being healthy is a practice. EVERY. DAY. It is shifting your awareness to being vulnerable to change your routine, stepping out of habits that don’t serve your soul, or light up your spirit. It’s committing to a lifestyle of taking care of your body, connecting to your mind, and nourishing your spirit! Add in the things that make YOU feel good because you will discover and share your true self. We are all perfectly imperfect! Be proud of who you are NOW in this moment because you are worth it! Follow the rules of your heart, aim for balance in life to feel better on and off your yoga mat, your meditation pillow, your surfboard, OR wherever you are.
