The Inertia

These days, everyone thinks they’re a photographer. Haven’t you browsed Instagram lately? Everyone’s doing it, and they’re all looking for ways to up their followers – from hashtags to filters to a number of other odd practices. The funny thing is that plenty of these so-called “photographers” are wielding smartphones. The times sure are a’changing, so maybe we shouldn’t be too surprised that, in 2014, cameras also make and receive phone calls and lenses come built in and fit comfortably in our palms.

Now there’s one tool that will add a unique twist to your photos that a smartphone can’t do itself. Enter the Olloclip telephoto and polarizing lens – a clip-on lens about an inch in diameter and slightly more in height – which allows iPhotographers a bevy of benefits. Everything from poor image color to harsh glare to interfering reflections are sorted once you clip on this device. On one end is the telephoto lens, which allows for twice the zoom you’d normally get, and on the other, a circular polarizing lens, which affords photographers more pleasing aesthetics.

The above images were shot to demonstrate the telephoto aspect of the Olloclip. The right image shows the flower as photographer Stevie Lindquist saw it, and the left image demonstrates the zoom potential of the Olloclip’s telephoto lens. If you’re a lifestyle photographer, this could provide crisper, more detailed portraits.

Tech specs:
