The Inertia

I just woke up one morning about two years ago and I felt a weight. I realized that I had been pushing backcountry on people through filming and editorial and all of a sudden the responsibility of that sunk in. If we are going to be spreading the love of the backcountry, shouldn’t we be making sure the followers are equipped enough to make it home?

I had already started making moves for myself to get more educated to start guiding and during that process and why not bring some people along to share the experience. This video is a little sneak peek at my education process — we are always learning something whether you realize it or not.

Working at SASS Argentina, there were some integral people who brought me in and helped me get the experience I needed and at this point I want to pass it on to other mountain mamas just wanting a piece of the powder pie.

I get it, it can be intimidating, but standing on your own two feet is key on any crew. Through SASS Argentina, Full Moon, and SAFE AS, I want to help shredders become assets, not liabilities in the backcountry.
