The Inertia

The nominees for the 2013 Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards have been announced, proving once again that surfing has reached a new level of intensity. The year long competition closed on March 20th, with every big wave break around the world being considered. Based on the photographic evidence, the five biggest or best have been identified in the key categories. The winners will be crowned at the Gala Awards in Anaheim, CA on May 3rd.

Shane Dorian is no stranger to the XXL Contest, and is nominated for all of the categories announced including the Ride of the Year, Pacifico Paddle, Pacifico Tube, and XXL Biggest Wave.
