We’re still feeling the stoke after The Inertia‘s fourth annual EVOLVE summit. Not only was it an amazing night, but to get back together with a full capacity crowd with everyone in person after a year of virtual events was truly invigorating. EVOLVE is all about uniting bright minds in surf and outdoors to connect, share stories, and learn from one another, and that’s exactly what went down at Smogshoppe in Los Angeles last Friday night.
We heard from visionaries like Mario Ordonez Calderon and Kat Miller of Un Mar de Colores on the work they’ve been doing to bring surfing to marginalized communities, laughed along with Jojo Roper and Nina Williams as they recounted stories from stepping outside of their comfort zones in Peak California, and were wowed by the incredible combination of shredding and meaningful storytelling in Robin Van Gyn’s FABRIC. The SeaTrees team shared their progress restoring kelp forests, and The Inertia’s Jordyn Romero shared her latest film, We Are Like Waves.
A huge shout out goes to everyone who attended, as well as our incredible partners at Sierra Nevada, White Claw, Chevrolet, and Klean Kanteen for making this monumental gathering possible. Needless to say, we’re already looking forward to next year, and hope to see all of you there!
