Being constantly immersed in the ocean, it’s easy to take it for granted. That is, it’s easy to get caught up in wave counts and conditions and forget that our oceans are complex ecosystems. But Mother Nature is kind enough to remind us every once in a while just how beautiful she is, and all we can do is stop and watch.
The other day, just off the coast of Tamarama and Bondi beaches in Australia, a whale and her calf appeared to the delight of local residents. According to a Facebook post by Local Fins Photography, who shot the video, the whale is assisting her baby to stay on the surface while dolphins swim around them. “It was over an hour of majestic movements,” says the post. A nice reminder that our playground is home to some incredible creatures.
