The Inertia

The first satisfying feeling about this video is obviously the fascinating work of art this species of Japanese puffer fish is capable of creating. Secondly, I realized how lovely David Attenborough’s voice is. In fact, I don’t want to watch anther earth and nature video if he is not narrating it.

Of course these are not actual crop circles. It turns out that these perfectly symmetrical works of art are from a species of Japanese puffer that create them to attract females. The crop-circle-like creation to the male Japanese puffer fish is what nice cars are to human bachelors – both are often waved in the faces of females just to excite them. We all know that doesn’t pan out the way we hoped.
