In the new short-film Worn Wear, Patagonia is urging its customers to buy less and appreciate the things they already own. The film explores a surf camp in Baja, a family’s maple syrup harvest in Vermont, an organic farm in Ojai and looks into the lives of a champion skiier, a National Geographic photographer, and a legendary alpinist.
This black friday, while most are out buying more than they need, Patagonia is supporting an alternative message-one in which places value on the old and worn out. “What would you rather buy, a brand new fleece jacket or one that was worn by your father while he was hitch hiking through Nepal and had all these great stories. Which is more valuable”?
