Coast to Coast: Surfers for Supplies is a group of surfers and beach lovers who care about helping people in the Northeast affected by Hurricane Sandy. Most members live in SoCal, so it’s difficult to help our friends and family. This group helps coordinate efforts to gather supplies and get them back to the people who need them most. We’ve started our efforts with surf shops in Southern CA and have partnered with Waves for Water, Surfers Environmental Alliance and ELECTRIC. Below is a list of items we’re hoping to collect and distribute. If you can help, it would be much appreciated!
Items Needed (new or gently used clothing):
winter jackets, sweaters, new thermal underwear, sweatshirts, pants, warm hats, gloves, scarves, boots, rubber boots, rain gear, sweats, coats, new socks, rubber gloves
Bedding:
clean or new blankets
Personal Care:
diapers, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, razors, q-tips, soap, baby wipes, baby food and formula, tampons, adult diapers, sanitary napkins, dry sham- poo
General Supplies:
facemasks, respirators, contractor trash bags, mops, brooms, batteries, dog/cat food, utility knives, thermos’, rock salt, shovels, candles, matches, bleach
Electronics:
walkie talkies, 2-way radios, mobile hot spots, power strips, inverters, space heaters, generators, water suction pumps, head lamps, flashlights, heat pads, hand warmer packs, dehumidifiers, extension cords
Kids Toys:
new toys, preferably small
