Danny Hess is an incredible craftsman. Headquartered in San Francisco, the man is doing some unique things with surfboards – most notably skinning foam cores with wood, or developing Hess “full wood tech” creating beautiful works of art that also happen to be ridable (should you have the heart). He also produces some technical wooden handplanes for bodysurfers ranging from beginner to the big wave expert. Danny’s been shaping handplanes since he was 17. And it shows.
