The Inertia

Hans Augustenborg and his friend Benjamin Beckett didn’t want to create just another surf edit. As Hans describes your average everyday clip nowadays, they’re mostly a mix of “narcissistic scenes of the great surfer, a pretentious soundtrack and maybe a little bit of surfing. It’s all so predictable and boring.”

Wanting to create something for the Cold Hawaii Film Festival, their biggest obstacle in creativity seemed to be that a majority of what they had as the deadline approached was the exact thing they didn’t want: surf clips.

Eventually they came across a promo video for a luxury resort in Greece and the light bulb went off. They decided to compare elements from the Denmark surf town Klitmøller to your run of the mill luxury resort experience. The final product was a genius combination of fun looking surf and a lot of Robert. Because Robert knows tons of models, has exceptional knowledge of the ocean, yoga and mindfulness – the perfect recipe for the perfect surf guide.
