Nobody is safe from #TheRunningManChallenge. And even though every NCCA basketball team under the sun jumped in on it over a month ago, only to be joined by any and every brand of athlete one can find on social media, we will honestly never have our fill.

To give as brief a history as possible without actually going back to 1996, here’s the gist of it all: Back in March, University of Maryland basketball players Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley started posting videos of themselves doing the running man to Ghost Town DJ’s “My Boo” in the most random of places.  The team’s Sweet 16 campaign during the NCAA’s four weeks of hysteria known as March Madness put them in the perfect spotlight for making a viral hit. It was epic. It still is epic. A month after the season is over and these clips are still popping up all over the internet. I never got sick of the song back in ’96, and I still won’t today.

Case in point, the craze has finally made its way into surfing.

So here we are. The Wright family, enjoying one of the few moments when everybody’s under one roof, and doing so with a good old fashioned random outburst of the running man. You have Tyler jumping on the table to join Mikey. Mikey, cast and all, leading the charge and dropping the crutches because f**k crutches.

It’s awesome for a million different reasons, but mostly because the entire family looks like they’re having one helluva time. Cheers to the Wright family, you folks are crazy and we love that.

So what next? Is the Ho family going to bring the heat? The Beschens? The Florence clan, or even the Rothmans?
