Camping and surfing go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you’ve surfed for any amount of time the odds are in favor of having at least one weekend/swell/trip under your belt that involved camping out as close to the waves as possible and waking up with the sun to catch the day’s first waves.

Of course, those mornings can be a little rough. Even when you’re already sleeping outdoors, as bundled up as possible, climbing out of your makeshift bed to check the surf is about the toughest thing you’ll do all day. All you really want to do (besides get barreled) is stay bundled up and keep as warm as possible, but getting up requires sacrificing much of that warmth. And suddenly standing on the beach or a cliff to check the surf sounds dreadful. Apparently this new sleeping bag that just launched on Kickstarter has all bases covered though. It’s called the Lazysack: the world’s most functional sleeping bag. You have your sleeping bag (duh), it opens up into a blanket (still pretty standard) and can be transformed into a poncho, making both pre and post surf’s coldest moments a little more bearable.
