The Inertia

It’s those damn hydrofoils. They’re so hot right now. It’s getting harder and harder to go more than a few days without seeing some kind of hydrofoil sorcery taking place on the internet. I get it, I’m part of the problem. I feed it almost daily at this point. But c’mon, it’s the most Laird thing out there at the moment. Kai Lenny “downwind hydrofoiling” one day, or The Ultimate Waterman Zane Schweitzer, paddling around atop a SUP with no straps, a foil and a death wish, or yet again Kai Lenny cruising the world’s first self propelled hydrofoil – because these guys are just too damn bored to stick to normal old fashioned surfing. Must be something in water on Maui.

Anyway, joining the list of 2016’s hydrofoil hysteria is this. It’s an inflatable dual tip foil. That’s right, inflatable. For all your portable foiling endeavors. Brunotti, a Dutch watersports company that makes everything from kiteboards to surfboards to clothes, is the inventor of this contraption. The twin foil package runs from €1249,99 ($1,387 USD), so it’s not like these are entry level toys. Still, if somebody’s made an inflatable foil kiteboard we’d be silly to assume surfboards and SUPs aren’t too far behind.
