Vernon Deck is a legendary kiwi photographer with a sharp eye and a dry wit (ask his option and he’ll give it to you straight – even if the answer is typically “fak dat!”). Raised on what he describes as a weirdly religious commune, Vern wasted no time in getting out, before escaping New Zealand all together for the Alps of the northern hemisphere. Now based in Switzerland, Vern has forged a successful photographic career first as a freelancer and now as Volcom’s official snow photographer. Over the past few years his images have graced magazine covers worldwide and helped to make legends of riders like Gigi Rüf, Iouri "iPod" Podladtchikov, and Markus Keller.
