French director and actor Tristan Helias directs and produces poetic short films about skateboarding and surf. Born and raised in Paris, Tristan usually finds inspiration by skating alone in the streets by night, allowing him to feel free from all conventions. Passionate about cinema and literature, he always tries to use his influences to make different films from what we use to see in the surf and skateboarding industry. "I make films about what inspires me at the moment," he says, "trying each time to make something new and unseen when I'm lucky to have the liberty to do it."
