Tim McKenna was born in Sydney, Australia, but spent most of his youth near the beaches of South West France. In the 90's, although he mainly focused on surf photography, he branched out into all the emerging extreme sports like snowboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing or even rock-climbing and motocross. In 2005, he released a fine art poster collection and in 2007 a coffee table book on the Teahupoo wave. It has become a best-seller, published in seven different languages.
