He is also a decorated ex-professional surfer boasting an impressive career that includes ASP WCT Rookie of the Year of 1993, four Lowers Pro titles, a win at the 1994 US Open, ASP WCT World Number 2 in 1996, and a world record three 10-point rides in one heat at Kirra on Australia's Gold Coast.
