Nik is the Executive Director of Save The Waves Coalition, a global organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the coastal environment, with an emphasis on the surf zone, and educating the public about its value. Before joining Save the Waves, Nik founded professional training programs in conservation project management, worked as a consultant in ecotourism development in coastal communities worldwide, and built innovative programs focused on water resource issues in the Monterey Bay area, including ecosystem service valuations, water quality incentives programs and Spanish language conservation outreach programs. He has traveled and surfed widely.
