My name's Miguel Caparica. I was born in Lisbon in 1967. I've always lived by the sea and I started surfing when i was 12. From 18 to 42 years old, I lived in Switzerland and that was where I started taking photos of my friends skating and snowboarding. When I came back to Portugal, I continued photographing, only this time, I concentrated on what I've always liked: surfing, bodyboarding, skating and BMX . Since I arrived, it's been hard to stand out or even make a statement in this environment. I'm still fighting for it, though, and every day, I learn more about the difficulties of the job. I'll keep on freezing those unique moments in time for everyone who likes my work.
