Born and raised on the island of Maui, Hawai’i, Matty grew up surrounded by the best watermen in the world and was raised to push the limits in everything he does. His father Matt is an 18x World Champion windsurfer and his little brother Zane is one of the best watermen in the world today. From big wave surfing to racing moto-x, it was always about going bigger. At just 17 years old, Matty was involved in a horrible motorcycle accident, leaving him in a wheelchair for over a year with a long battle to save his left leg. After the accident, Matty enrolled in college and has been running events and his cinematography business for the past 7 years. In 2014 Matty married his wife, Elena, and on Christmas on 2015 gave birth to his Daughter, Sage Kulani.
