The author began surfing at the age of twelve in the Pensacola, Florida.  He quit surfing regularly at the age of twenty six in Long Beach, New York.  From that point on he led an itinerant life, living in both the US and Europe.  He drove a cab in New York City for a decade and earned a degree in film from New York University.    Jim worked in the film business briefly, then in 1997 released "The Mysterious Tale of How I shouted Wrong Eyed Jesus" on David Byrne's record label Luaka Bop.  The album was a critical success, garnering glowing reviews both in the US and abroad, and spawning the award winning BBC documentary, Searching For the Wrong Eyed Jesus.    To date Jim White has released six critically acclaimed albums, is a visual artist, photographer, filmmaker, literary commentator and published author.  He's the father of two beautiful daughters and presently lives in Athens, Georgia, which is a long long way away from the nearest beach break.   Jim's new record, Where It Hits You, will be released Feb.21st via Yep Roc Records.
