Garek has been locally grown and raised in San Diego for 30 years and has surfed here for 25 of those. His home wave is the left point at Terramar in Carlsbad when it's casual and the north peak at Boneyards in Encinitas when it's pumping. He handles the public relations/social media and shipping aspects of Degree33 Surfboards at the moment. He spent the last three years working at a ski resort and brewery in Flagstaff, Arizona, and has come back to re-wet his gills and take his surfing to the next level both in the physical and mental game as well as in his career aspirations. He's been shaping boards for himself and friends for the last 10 years and recently started Plane & Simple, creating custom bodysurfing handplanes for locals.
