BERT, short for Bertlemann, is an anonymous surf street artist. BERT uses the ASP World Championship Tour, and other surf related trends, as inspiration for his visual surf culture commentaries. BERT's first piece titled 'Slater Hater' depicts Joel Parkinson giving Kelly Slater the finger while tugging over the Snapper Rocks trophy in San Clemente. Over the past year, BERT's artwork has mysteriously shown up on urban walls up and down the Southern California coast including Malibu, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Pacific Beach, as well as Kauai and Oahu.
