Jamie O’Brien took a trip down to Tahiti for what he’s calling a perfect wave. However, like any good break that’s not packed wall to wall with surfers, it was in the middle of nowhere.
At the top of the video, a chipper O’Brien gets dropped off at the airport. “We’re on a mission to score some of the best waves of planet Earth,” he crows at the camera. However, it was just the start of a grueling journey to actually access those waves. One plane led to a smaller plane, to a truck, to a boat, until he finally arrived at a remote Tahitian reef that provided idyllic vistas and pumping surf.
In the end, it was all worth it though, as evidenced by the edit at the end of his vlog. “Probably one of my best surf sessions in years,” said an exhausted, hungry and sunburned O’Brien.
