Mason Ho has proven time and time again that he is not afraid of rocks. He seems, in fact, to be attracted to rocks — maybe not the rocks themselves, exactly, but the fact that those rocks often deter other, less rock-positive surfers. Which leaves Mason Ho and the few counterparts who share his rock love with more waves.
Surfboards of the softer variety are quickly becoming more popular. They’re easier for the beginner surfer, of course, but they do offer their own distinct kind of fun. In the video above, Mason takes his SofTech surfboard lineup for a test ride at the rare sand pile and meets up with recent Eddie Aikau winner Luke Shepardson who gives Mason’s SofTech model a go.
