Holy hell! This is absolutely massive Josh Daiek!
The freeskier who was born and raised in Michigan but moved west to ski Tahoe after high school sent this massive road gap near South Lake Tahoe last winter. He just released the footage on his Instagram page .Daiek doesn’t specifically identify where this spot is but casually scrolling through the comments, which we did, it appears to be Echo Summit on Highway 50 east of the Sierra-at-Tahoe resort.
“Took two tries to ride ‘er out,” wrote Daiek. “I’ve been eyeing this gap for the last decade. With a banner year in the Sierra last season the landing finally filled in and was ready to send. The gap was roughly 150’ take off to landing and over 100’ vertical drop! So stoked to check this one off the list!”
Some on the internet are screaming largest road gap ever but Mr. Daiek makes no such claim. In fact, the two-time Freeskiing World Tour champ (the tour that was eventually merged into the Freeride World Tour) isn’t really into claiming at all. Seems he’ll let his skiing do the talking. And with sends like this, it pretty much screams for him.
