The Inertia

River surfing is so hot right now. So hot, even the sea lions are doing it. Check out this little guy, who somehow made his way up into the the American River system. The American drains the Sierra Nevada before dumping into the Sacramento River in the Sacramento Valley. It is part of the San Fransisco Bay watershed. Still, as you can hear from the commentary, it’s pretty rare to see a sea lion that far up a river drainage that isn’t directly dumping into the ocean. But this as been a rare winter and the rivers are gushing around the state, especially in the lower-elevation drainages. This guy is kind of shredding. And you can tell he wants to make it up to that green face but can’t quite get there. Might need to try a step-off from the bank.
