Born from surfboard technology comes Hydroflex Skateboards.

Sometimes new products spring from unlikely things or in unlikely places. Who would think that a bunch of surfing fanatics would come up with a game-changing skate deck construction?
Hydroflex Technology is a small, high-performance surfboard manufacturer. We have developed our own manufacturing process to build lighter, stronger and longer lasting boards. We are based in Oceanside, California, and produce surfboards with a patented technology called 3D-Glassing™ technology for world-class shapers like Matt Biolos of Lost, Pyzel, Roberts, Takayama, Chemistry, Surf Prescriptions with more to come.
Our latest venture is taking us into skate deck manufacturing. Hydroflex Skateboards was born out of the same passion we have for board sports and building surfboards. A few years ago, we started using some of the scrap materials from the surfboards to build skate decks for use around the factory. Now we are starting to use the same 3D-Glassing™ concept for our new skate decks.
Friends and customers of Hydroflex who came to the factory would see the skate decks and want one for themselves. Because of the demand and the positive feedback about the look and performance of the decks, Hydroflex decided to put more development work into the decks to take composite to the market. Through testing, engineering and lots of long nights, they refined the materials, construction and process to make the decks that are unlike the standard wood or plastics that are on the market.
Built with the same basic materials that are used to build surfboards–foam, fiberglass and resin–along with a unique honeycomb look, these boards not only look amazing but have the performance characteristics to back up it. The pop, spring, flex and dampening can be dialed in specific to the style of deck being made and how it will be skated. Want a cruiser with some flex and good pop or a super-stiff downhill racing deck? All this can be achieved based on the amount of fiberglass each model is made with. The 3D bonding structure ensures pop and motion is fully transferred through the deck making them very responsive. Also, because the boards are not made from multiple layers of glued together wood, they won’t warp or delaminate over time and they are waterproof.
Like Hydroflex Surfboards, every skateboard will be manufactured locally in Oceanside, Califonia. In order to be able to move from prototyping into full production, the decks will be launched through a Kickstarter campaign in September. Ideally, this will raise the needed capital to bring the decks to market. The money raised will go towards molds, raw materials and building out the area to set up a full skateboard production.
Our goal is for the skateboards to completely change the market by doing something totally new and innovative. Our deck will do this.
