The Inertia

2014 was a milestone year for contest surfing. A Brazilian won the world title. The Teahupoo event saw some of the greatest conditions ever. John John Florence began his hopeful ascent to the throne. The ASP got a facelift, and with came a whole whack of contest changes.

And with those changes came some truly incredible heats. The newly named World Surf League has chosen three of the best heats of the year, and they want you to vote. The winning heat will be announced at the WSL Awards on February 25th. But let’s be honest: if the JJF/Kelly Slater heat at Teahupoo doesn’t win it, the contest is rigged.
