Haleiwa is not an easy place to surf. The North Shore of Oahu’s preeminent performance wave is often plagued by stronger-than-normal currents (and crowds), making the lineup interesting to navigate. But Jack Johnson has been surfing here since, well, forever as you can tell when he greets everyone in the parking lot (including Mr. Slater). His knowledge of the break shows in the water, too, as he hooks into a gem of a wave and gets shacked at sizeable Haleiwa. Dude isn’t just good on a guitar.
