Kooks: A Love Story (the original) started as an inside joke. At 21 years of age, I broke my leg and couldn’t surf or work, so all I did was film my friends surfing. At the end of the summer, we put all the footage together to put the video on YouTube. It became quite popular in Tofino, to the point where we decided to spend the winter making a much improved sequel. Kooks 2: Fifty Shades of Spray.
All you need is to do is work six months of the year to live, have a passion for photography, spend every day biking in the cold, stand in the rain, and surf as much as humanly possible.
