Sheet waves are popping up left and right. They were created with the intention of bringing an appreciation of surfing to places that otherwise wouldn’t have waves, and soon gave birth to what we know as “flowboarding” now. Flowrider, a company that constructs these pools and waves, has 11 variations of the sheetwave ranging from a mobile pool to full standing barrels.
Now how about taking this creation of theirs for a spin? The semicircle WaveOz can handle 720 rides per hour, pumping waves out of its 200,000 gallon tank. The final product looks like some pretty fun pool skating, capped off with cutbacks and room to pump down the line. It’s still not surfing, but it doesn’t have to be. It looks like the most fun evolution of a sheet wave we’ve ever seen.
