If anyone deserves to be called a “superhuman,” it’s Wim Hof. A firm believer in the extraordinary power of the mind, Wim has been defying the standards of science for over a decade. He’s even gathered an impressive collection of 26 World Records along the way. Referred to as the “Iceman” because of his extreme resilience to cold temperatures, he has mastered the ability to obtain full control over his body and mind through intense meditation.
According to Vice News, Wim was first recognized by the scientific community after staying submerged in ice for one hour and 53 minutes. The most bizarre detail was that his core body temperature remained the same throughout these two intense hours.
After achieving absolute control over his mental and physiological states, the Iceman has continued to redefine what was considered possible on several occasions. He’s climbed Mount Everest in shorts while resisting altitude sickness and hypothermia, ran a marathon in the Namibian Desert without water, and controlled his autonomic nervous system and immune system by withstanding illness in laboratory tests. He’s without a doubt one of the most badass men in the world, and believes that his methods can be done by anyone.
Here, Wim shows reporters from Vice how they can achieve their own enlightenment through his incredible methods.
