The Inertia

I know media (including The Inertia) has a tendency to be hyperbolic. But with all the amazing footage out there and superhuman feats being accomplished, it is difficult to contain our excitement. That being said, in the context of mountain bike edits, I am kicking myself for not saving up every single hyperbolic overstatement for this edit right here.

If the trailer for Teton Gravity Research and Anthill Film’s upcoming mtb-mentary unReal didn’t already have you hyped out of your mind, then One Shot should more than do the trick.

Yep, nothing but the goods here — Brandon Semenuk, doing what he does, cruising that signature ineffable style, without the disruptive cuts to take us out of the zone. The acid drop at 2:30 mark is, well, unreal. Then again, the entire edit is unreal.

How do they do it? Injured, Semenuk only hit the line once. So in order to capture everything, the crew mount the most advanced gyro-stabilized camera system in the world onto a truck that drove down a custom road running alongside the custom trail (which is shown in its zoomed-out entirety below).

Brandon-2

And to ensure that this part was, indeed, one of the best ever, they coupled the visuals with Buffalo Springfield — one of the better tunes to vibe out to for sure.
