The Inertia

The Mayhem Projects continues and the froth is at an all time high: after dropping an edit from their offseason trip to Oz, Spencer Whiting and Brandon Davis attack early season snow in the Mammoth sidecountry, despite Brandon nursing an injured knee. There’s a couple of super-stylie laybacks in here as the Sierra’s delivered the much-hyped El Nino goods, blessing the crew as they enjoy fresh pow to a sick NWA remix. Couple of flat landings and exposed rocks in there just to demonstrate serious dedication, too.

“While the normal routine is to grab as many cameras as we can, hot lap the park all day, and stack as many clips as possible to drop an Opening Weekend edit in a timely fashion, this year was different,” says Spencer.

The crew utilized pre-season terrain that had yet to open and sesssioned different features,

building pack downs, poppy quarter pipe jumps and tree rides. “We even decided to drop the infamous cliff line under Chair 9 after an afternoon snack,” Spencer says. “There’s nothing like a full day of hiking, snacking, and sending sketchy lines in very ‘low-tide’ conditions all alone while the rest of the world is waiting in lift lines on the ‘open’ side of the mountain.”
