“(Bode Merrill) doesn’t get that what he does in insane. He just thinks it’s fun.” This from Broken Mechanism, a mini feature film from Snowboard magazine released at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City over the weekend featuring one of the most well-rounded riders in the game. Merrill can make backcountry, park and street look good without much effort. And Broken Mechanism gives props to Merrill’s under-appreciated athletic ability with artistic cuts and what sounds like phone interviews laid over the rider’s clips. And the footage definitely backs up the thesis: “(Bode’s) completely nuts but really calculated about being completely nuts.”
