The couple that surfs together, stays together. Or something like that. Ask Bruna Schmitz and Dane Zaun.
A few months ago, we teamed up with Waterways and Fiji Airways to send one of surfing’s most badass newly-engaged couples on vacation to Matanivusi Resort. “Let the love grow!” we say. We’re nice like that. Gotta celebrate the fact that we’re alive, in love, and not in a box just yet every so often.
“The waves in Southern Fiji are unbelievable to say the least,” said Dane Zaun. “Unlike the famed spots of Tavarua, Cloudbreak and Restaurants, everything down here is a touch more raw. Not raw in a bad way, but in the way that the reefs are further out, the wind a bit stronger, and the swell always a notch bigger.”
Filmers Ricky Lesser and Tyler Haft came back with the gorgeous edit above. And we’ll be damned if it doesn’t motivate us to get off our ass and figure out how to scam our way to Fiji.
