It’s been some time since a surf clip’s knocked me on my ass. That is to say, that was equally made up of incredible maneuvers, creative, exciting, and with plenty of variety. That’s a lot of toe marks to hit.
Kai Hing’s “SPLASHING,” though, is something unexpected, entirely. Hing’s kind of an unknown here in the states, unless you’re an avid follower of the Pro Juniors. He only signed with Billabong in January of this year. Watching him surf, though, you’ll wonder why you never heard his name before. The whole clip is also in black and white, an elegant touch.
